Dreambert and Bedsmith, two beings from the Pi’illo race, wake up one morning, not remembering who they are, where they are, or how they got here. They find themselves in someone else’s house in an unfamiliar city, feeling lost and confused. Just as the panic begins, a strange man named Wonka appears who claims to be their father. He assumes that they passed out while watching TV the night before, but before he can explain more, the situation gets even weirder. A creature named Starlov arrives, belonging to the Star Sprite race, and calls himself their friend. She says they had plans to spend time together, but Dreambert and Bedsmith don’t remember anything about her or any such plans. They reluctantly follow Starlow outside, not knowing what’s going on around them. They wander around the city, behaving as if they don’t know the neighborhood or Starlov. Despite their confusion, Starlow continues to communicate with them as if they have been friends for a long time. Showing them around, Starlow patiently explains their possible friendship and names, trying to calm them down. However, Dreambert and Bedsmith remain disoriented and unable to understand their past or their connection to Starlow. As the day progresses, Starlow becomes increasingly concerned, at first thinking that they are just pretending to forget. But as their strange behavior continues, she begins to worry that something is wrong with their memories. By the end of the day, Starlow’s insecurities increase, and she wonders if there’s something bigger behind their forgetfulness. Dreambert and Bedsmith are sent back to the house where they first woke up, and Wonky, still calling himself their father, gives them a bed that seems unfamiliar. Too awake and confused to protest, they settle down for the night. When they fall asleep, their minds are filled with questions about their personality, their past, and the reason for their sudden amnesia. The mystery of their lost memories remains unanswered as they drift into a restless sleep, unaware of what awaits them in the future.
